Flowering with a T5

A very good friend of mine gave me a very nice 4 foot 4 bulb T5 light, right now it has the 6500k bulbs in it, right now I flower with the HPS, summer is very near,and the heat will be hard to keep down, how good at flowering is the T5 with the correct bulbs? I know it's good for veg just curious on flower

NOT good

could try LEDs in flower to keep the heat down but that's not what you got handed
T5 is a VEG only

Yeah, what Friend said...

But if you are forced to try and use T5 for flowering, use the red (flowering) bulbs. They aren't near as strong as HID or LED, but at least they're the correct spectrum for flowering. Some people use them to supplement HID/LED growing.

Yes, You can use the T-5 to flower you just have to adapt to them a little.

1 use the 2700K bulbs
2 grow smaller plants. the T-5 have a low penetration so smaller/shorter plants do better
3 go a little lighter on the nutes sinsi there is less light for photosynthesis the plant need less nutes
4 watch the temperatures close T-5 do give off heat you will have to adjust your air flow accordingly

Ive seen some nice flowers come from t5s....I would use them as side lights myself

Maybe I will jut buy a cool tube for my HPS and just vent the heat out, but none the less, I will find a great use for the light he have me
