Hi all
porr quality and rising prices have made come out of my self imposed 'early retirement.,I've just germinted a pack of fem northern lights from Sensi. All (5) now tucked away in some canna soil,I'm then hoping to see them flourish under my 150w envirolight before I veg them out for around 30 days under a 400 MH,then I hope my girls flourish under a 600 hps.I'll update the thread on a regular basis, pic etc,
canna soil
canna nutes
1mx1mx2m grow tent
anyone grown this strain out before? ,I fancy a blast from the past...........

Love NL, great smoke and high with low odor.

the stuff I've picked up was minty/menthylated smelling when the rock-hard nugs were broke open and grew more ball like then lengthy banana-like buds. Like big ole tennis balls of indica goodness.

My NL5 is unreleased genetics from 1989 and only regular seeds. It did not make it to the Sensi catalog as Neville was incarcerated in Australia, so it can't be called Sensi.

I'm about to make f4s of these with a mother that is all nasty garbage funk. I don't get any menthol off her at all. She smells like a pile of rotting fruit garbage. I always say she smells like an orchard that has a dead squirrel buried under the rotted fruit that has fallen from the tree.

You should see a short finish, but a long veg on NL5. She's not a vigorous grower, and basically needs to be the size you want her to be at harvest when you flip her, as growth when flipped is pretty minimal, I usually see less than a foot of extra growth when I flip new nl5 starts. That is why she's perfect for stealth and short spaces. You'll really lose on yield if you do less than a 60 day veg. And don't top her too many times, one topping around 30 days, then a pinch of the top shoots about 45 days, and that should really be it.

If Sensi is using a mother that is sativa leaning you might get more vigorous growth in veg on some of the shoots and a bit longer flower, but I haven't found a pheno in mine yet that goes beyond 52 days. I do know one thing, watch those fems like a hawk. I've read lots and lots of herm reports on these, keep your eyes open.

Good luck!

[img]26 days since they came above the soil, sorry if that sounds a little rude! transplanted 8 days ago into bigger pots and am using Rhizatonic root stimulator and canna vega, currently feeding 3ml per 2 litre water(they recommend 10ml)gunna work my way upI'm vegging under a 400watt dual spec bulb as thats all i could get my hands on but intend to flower under a 600watt hps,im going to get a dimmable ballast lumetc and see who i get on with temps,so far so good.Temps are getting a little high (31c) but only for an hour or two, i'll have that sorted with delivery of new oscolating fan.the air intake is blowing the plants at the moment so im sure when i introduce the osilating fan temps will drop a little
.It's taken a good week for the plants to adjust to the new pots but im now seeing some action

they are 48 days old since they sprouted about the soil,I wanted to follow melvans advice and maybe veg longer but i need things to be done by a certain time as im outta town .I flipped into 12/12 on day 40,the taller plant is a sensi skunk 1 auto ,the others are all showing signs of female hairs so looking good, they grow small and stocky but theres bud sights appearing everywhere, they still under my dual spec 400 as i cant afford upgrade, temps are great and the plants have responded to the feeding regime perfectly, changing to flower nutes and canna boost next feed.I'm getting the light real close with the use of an oscilating fan just on the hotspot.no odour yet which is great but i do get that whiff every know and again when i open the zip up and thats great too .

the auto was a freebie that came with attitude, didn't intend on bringing her through and wasn't aware of the light schedule for an auto, will I have issues under 12/12?,my only other option is to put outside and it gets a little cold at night here,I've tried not to get lazy this time and am keeping good temps and gradually build the dosage of nutes(every other watering their last feed of veg nutes at full strength and they seem to be loving it.
