Torch Type?

ok well iv got a question for all you Dabbers out there, what kind of torch do you use to heat your nail?
Mapp gas, Propane or Butane
where did you get your torch from? and about how much was it?

basically im using a standard plumbers torch with mapp gas since thats what i have on hand at the moment, im looking to get something new and was leaning towards a smaller butane torch but dont wanna get one thats not gonna get the nail hot enough in a timely manor... just lookin for something reliable and not such a bulky bothersome... what do you all use/recommend???

I use the small propane cans with a tourch you would use for soldering copper together...don

I have one of these that I use for a variety of things. I think it might work for your application. It uses butane and gets very hot or light flame (adjustable). This one is called a Micro torch but I have seen them under different names.

I use mapp gas but that just cause I use it soldering pipes

I used that at first too ozzy....But it heats up hotter than Propane..and broke a few Glass domes and Nails...and I never liked the smell that mapp gas....Always made me look around for My Dad and his Thumb..lol

I would think that Mapp gas would be too hot also. I don't even use it for soldering 1/2" pipe--it just gets too hot too fast (it is great for 3/4" and larger isn't it Ozzy?). I have a little butane thing similar to MR1s.

It's mainly for 3/4 and larger but when you get used to using it you can cut hrs off a rough in time with it.
