I have been ready almost every night on different ones. These seem to be pocket friendly. That is what worries me.

check these out too. These are definitely not pocket friendly lol

www.spectrumkingled.com go to buy now and check out the 400 series or 400 series plus. There is a nice little video.

when buying LED don't think 1 BIG "bulb" like HSP
break that "520W~600W" DRAW power into a few smaller fixtures to cover more area.
unlike HPS, adding four 200w units together does add so 4x200 = 1x800w

For the price of the Spectrum King LED, I could buy almost 3 of the Mars II. I wonder if 2 Mar II which would still be cheaper then the Spectrum king would do better then one Spec King. Every test I saw on the Spec king is comparing itself to single LED systems. At that price is it fair to compare a $400 LED system to a $1100 system?

nope, nope it is not (fair) @ all

also think about how long it takes to learn a lighting setup and dial in your grow... now learn what, 5 or 6 lighting setups all at once.
Whatever setup you know best is going to win for sure.

That said, the spectrum king is VERY interesting!
Not really a stealth/tent fixture though

THAT said, a dimmable 450+ is on order, thanks for the link!!
Now if I didn't live in fucking Ohio and could do some legal testing...
so frustrating!

I may wait 3 months and see what you have to say about it. All reviews I've read have been really good. 20% increase even. I know it's a weird setup but I think it will work in a 4x4x8. Keep the water trays directly on the ground. I have to set mine on buckets anyway.

it wont fit in my space as it is, THATS for sure!

I'm going to need to modify the cooling to fit my situation.

Don't assume I'll have results any time too soon!
and then it will be a modified, "dimmed" unit crammed in a 22"x26" space or maybe 3x3 tent.

you know I'll try my best but they are going to be skewed results @ best

I have been looking and reading about LED's off and on for about a year. I just haven't until recently been ready to jump. I think the Spec King is what I have been looking for to get me to push to LED. Keep me posted when you receive and set it up!

I wonder what kind of light Orangesunshine got and didn't like........... I'd like to get a LED ......... just hard to decide which one........ if your gonna use the mars it is best to use multiple small ones vs one big one....... it is cooler and provides a better foot print......... according to pj.

Have a few different friends in the led jump and switch...both big time guys with multiple lamps and rows and lots of footages jumped right back pissed off at the wasted time.....
Two dif people are loving the personal tents with the smallish led taking care of everything for them.....

Me I'm chicken...ain't broke don't fix it pa always says....

This says it for me also. I know people who get great results, and people who have been disappointed at the results.

I would like to go to a cooler, more efficient light.......but because I've seen mixed results from experienced growers, it doesn't justify the cost/risk/effort at this point ...to me. I do believe it's the future...........I guess I'm just dragging my feet.

I have never used a HPS to grow.
I have used/installed/wired 1000w MH high-bay lighting in an industrial/manufacturing setting and 250w HPS "parking lot lamps"
So I have some idea of the shier POWER of 1kw

I think its asking a lot for new technology to not only provide better light but also use "HALF" the power.
If a new HPS bulb came out that did EITHER of those two things all you HPS growers would be ALL OVER them.
But LED's have to do all that and not cost too much either, this "early" in the technology curve.
(not fair)

IMO current tech is comfortable @ a "tent/cabinet" level.
If your growing in a whole/open room, your pushing the "bleeding edge"

ALL opinions stated come from someone who grows in a 22"x26" ductaped, PVC reinforced cardboard box...
but all with a LED lamps!

If you watch the video attached to the spec king. He has a lumens meter and shows the lumens reading higher than a 1k hps and that was about a foot and half away. I haven't got one for myself yet, but I have to say from the results shown it looks amazing.

Spectrum King, dimmable, 450+, with 120 degree (low profile) reflector ring installed:
On FedEx vehicle for delivery
fuck ya
I'm going to try to just reposition the PSU's and hard mount the fixture to the TOP of my cabinet,
not sure if that will free-up enough height, but It would get me up and running faster than setting up the water-cooling.

thank you Monoxide for finding these

It isn't really the heat, its the height of that heat-sink/fixture that's killing me.
I have a 68" tall cabinet to work in.

This will throw the center of gravity off A LOT but saves me A LOT of head room.
