Currently in California you can get a doctors recommendation. This allows you to be completely ripped off on price by the local brick and mortar dealers...
Even more so by the delivery services.
Yes I can have weed without getting a ticket.
No I'm not sick,
That's the con. I like many many others have to fake some illness to get the note. I am completely aware of how damaging that is to people who are really sick. I also am aware how that continues to help the powers that be in the great lie about western medicine....
I guess I'll get off the soap box now.
But in California we are helping big Pharma....thats a huge CON....

Pro; No Jail

Con; Everything else.

There should be no more restrictions, rules, or discussion than there are about growing a tomato plant. You should be allowed to grow, possess, and use any substance you wish as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. Moral opposition doesn't count as harm.

Pros:

1. Freedom to grow without being paranoid about jail.

2. Being able to talk to my trustworthy friends about my grows. Growing is my favorite hobby, my off time from work revolves around my grows, and yet I can't talk to my friends about them.

3. I'd be able to meet some of you good people.

Con:

In my case, I'm very concerned that if MJ is ever legalized in my state, my company will start random drug testing. My company would never allow us to use MJ, unless the law specifically said they had to. In the states where MJ is legal, I think they still allow employers to fire MJ users, even if they have a medical card.

So, even if MJ is legalized here, I probably would have to refrain from (2) above.

I have to disagree with surfinc. I'm in CA too. I'll gladly pay an $85 yearly fee to be 95% legal, (feds could come, but it aint likely). Any dispensary here in the bay area you can get $20-$70 1/8ths. Wide range, and quality. Guarantee any 1/8th you drop $45+ for is straight dank. That being said, just renewing my rec recently went to the shop after for a treat. As I'm walking up I realize it had been a while. Come to find out I had to renew membership because I hadnt been there in over a year and a half.... Haven't needed to.. What my $85 a year is def worth

It is as legal as it needs to be here. Any more legal, big business swoops in, taxed even more, and restrictions on growing etc will be placed. I'm good

Sad but true. Biggie made Puffys quote so famous and I think its so true. Mo Money Mo Problems! You give the state more money, there just going to waste it. You ever drive by a government employed building and see a car less then 10 years old? Its rare. Around here at least, to get those government jobs, you have to know someone.
