i just hope the people behind the bill make sure they cover all their bases. everyone talks about all the good legalizing MJ would create. less people in prison, more tax money for states and feds, medical benefits, etc. The truth is this will be a tough transition. there is an enormous amount of people in jail for mj related crimes. when all of those people are released from jail, your looking at an immediate jump in unemployment, and homelessness. on top of that, we all know how big the private prison industry has become over the past 10-15 years. there are going to be quite a few prisons going out of business. that's a lot of employee's without jobs. pair that with all of the LEO that are going to get laid off. i can just see the republicans loving that juicy story. "MJ legalization bumps the unemployment rate to an all time high!"

i'm optimistic though... i'll put my guess at 10 years or less

they won't release all the ppl in prison for mj related sentences. it was illegal when they went to jail, they will unfortunately have to do their time.

.

People convicted of MJ offenses won't be relased even if the laws changes.

I believe the federal Gov may strike down "Federal" MJ laws,......but leave state laws in place. It will be legalised one state at a time. The last states to legalise will be Texas, Miss., Ala, ect. Where legalisation will be held up is easy to see, the states that oppose abortion, immigration, gay marriage....these will be the foot draggers.

the main problem is the new laws in most case only allow a couple oz at most and anyone doing time is in for way more in most cases. So if they were caught now they would still face the same charges.

who grows 1 oz producing plants? especially 1 at a time, so you don't have more then a oz. I hear in CO you can have 6 plants. but only 1 oz of possession. the laws are very qwerky.

Oh and why have a limit? Do they have a limit on how much alcohol you can have at your house? or in possession? treat them the same in my opinion.
